Donations & Volunteering May 9th, 2008

What to donate...
Unfortunately, due to costs associated with repairing, storing and recycling, SDMUG cannot accept all equipment you may wish to donate. Schools are no longer interested in out dated or end of life equipment and it is too hard for us to use or place those systems. At this time we are only accepting donations of working Macintosh G3 or better systems with working 15" or larger monitors (including iMacs and beige G3 systems). In addition we can only accept USB or Firewire based peripherals (i.e. scanners, ink jet printers, floppy drives, etc.). We are also not able to accept older software, manuals, books, cables, adapters, original packaging material, etc.

If you have older or damaged equipment you need to dispose of SDMUG encourages you to please do so responsibly. If you need assistance with computer recycling please read this brochure (624K-PDF) from San Diego Environmental Services.

To donate equipment to the school program...
Please contact Dennis Baros at donations@sdmug.org. (Dennis handles all of the donations for the School Support Program.)

If you need equipment...
If you are a school, church, community group or non-profit organization in need of computer equipment, please contact Dennis Baros at donations@sdmug.org. Please include a brief description of your group, contact information (name, email address and daytime phone number) and a breif description of what your needs are. If we can meet your needs a SDMUG representative will contact you.

For information about our next workshop...
Please contact Mac MacAvenia at schools@sdmug.org. (Mac schedules the location and time of the workshops.)
